Hey everyone!

After feedback from early players of Kawalan, we’ve decided to release Version 2—a much-needed improvement over the original. While the core of the game remains the same, we’ve fixed several key issues and added new elements to enhance the horror experience even further. We’ve worked hard to refine the game, and we hope this update brings Kawalan to a whole new level.

Core Gameplay & Mechanics

• Added sprint functionality across all levels for improved pacing and player control.
• Added flashlight functionality in applicable dark areas for better visibility.
• Added collection interaction in Path 2.
• Adjusted door interactables for smoother player interaction.
• Removed fridge lighting for visual consistency and tone

 Audio Enhancements

• Updated and fixed footstep sounds to match tile surfaces across all doors and paths.
• Adjusted proximity of all sound effects to create a more immersive soundscape.

 Visual & Environmental Improvements

• Overhauled lighting in all levels for a more atmospheric experience.
• Reworked house visuals to achieve a more Silent Hill-inspired, run-down aesthetic.
• Added level variants for mid and later game sections.
• Revised transition scene texts to better reflect Bernila’s dark backstory and enhance narrative clarity.
• Added animations to all the scenes in the game to make the models feel more alive.

 Enemy AI & Jumpscares

• Reworked Enemy AI, including pathing, movement speed, behavior, and animations.
• Added fear triggers and new jump scare elements across all levels.
• Updated existing jump scares for improved timing and intensity.
• Improved all enemy-related jump scares for consistency and scare factor.

 Narrative & Text

• Polished all dialogue and in-game text for clarity and emotional impact.
• Fixed a typo in one of the character names in the final level.
• Improved paragraph formatting throughout the game to enhance readability and story flow.

Credits & UI

• Revised credits layout to better reflect recent game updates.
• Added “Press Enter to Skip” function for players who prefer to skip the credits.
